ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENTAL BRANCH

Rush Mission Statement

Rush Soccer is committed to providing an unparalleled soccer experience for all who have interest in the game of soccer.  Rush Soccer promotes the development of character, the electricity of competition and the importance of pure enjoyment.  We accept the responsibility of teaching life lessons to our athletes to further their growth inside the game and out.  We believe that all players should be afforded an equal opportunity to explore their potential and participate in challenging circumstances that will yield positive outcomes.   We are committed to making soccer a pleasant, safe and rewarding experience for everyone involved, regardless of age or ability.  Through quality coaching, sound leadership and absolute sincerity, Rush Soccer will work to be the best soccer club in the nation.

In any great soccer organization two branches exist that covers different stages in a player’s development:

  • Developmental

  • Competitive

No one branch is greater than another.  The two branches must co-exist and cooperate if a soccer organization is to succeed and reach its fullest potential.  Branches must communicate and work together in order to make decisions that allow for a club to move in a positive direction. The Developmental Branch is designed for our Players to help bridge to competitive; and, give our members a solid foundation to build a healthy team and ultimately help develop the Rush players.

The Developmental Branch is divided into three divisions, the Preschool Division, Micro Division, and the Bantam Division.

  • The Preschool Division is for Under-4 players, and designed to introduce kids to the game of soccer by developing their motor skills, ball skills, and concepts of fun. In this division, parents are encouraged to participate with their children during the session, and the emphasis is very firmly on fun.

  • The Micro Division is for players from Under-6 and Under-8, and designed to further introduce kids to the game of soccer by developing their motor skills, ball skills, understanding of the game, and concepts of fun.  Teams in the U-6 ages play in a 3v3 format and in the U-8 ages play in a 4v4 format, to provide more touches on the ball.

  • The Bantam Division is for Under-10 players, and designed to bridge their development to competitive by advancing kids to the next level of the game of soccer by developing stronger motor skills, advanced ball skills, higher understanding of the game, and concepts of fun through competitive play.

The following is a list of our programs and their seasons, along with a link to find further information about each program.

Rush is proud of its traditions of taking young and talented players to the next level.  Some of the players that the club has helped grow and develop are now part of our national or professional teams in the country and/or around the world.

The Rush, through a player first philosophy, has given kids of all ages a place to play and improve. The Developmental Branch allows each child to pursue his/her own goals, while building confidence and self-esteem.
