Alaska Rush 99 Girls have success at ODP Championships.

Every year the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) holds its Olympic Development Program (ODP) tournament, showcasing some of the best soccer players each region has to offer.  This year, Region IV held its ODP Championships in Phoenix, Arizona in January over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.  Alaska Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) sent a number of teams to this tournament.  After an extensive tryout process, Alaska Rush’s Ally Hull (99G Nike) was selected to play for the Alaska 99 Girls team.  During the tournament, Ally played with heart and passion performing well in the face of some stiff competition.  Her play on the field was recognized by the Region IV coaches who selected Ally for the ODP Championship First Team, which is essentially the all-star from the tournament.  She was the only girl from Alaska selected among all of the age groups and the only Alaskan selected for a First Team.  This honor places Ally among the elite players in Region IV.  Jason Leonardis, Alaska Rush’s Technical Director and Ally’s coach, commented, 'This selection of Ally for the ODP Championship First Team is a huge honor and demonstrates her ability compete with the best Region IV has to offer.'

Alaska Rush would like to congratulate Ally for achieving this honor.

Ally was also invited to attend the ODP Regional Camp for the 99 Girls this July in Moscow, Idaho where she will have a chance to compete with some of the best players in the nation.  Ally’s teammates, Sophie GrossKendra Luiten, and Brianna Linnell (99G Nike), who also played in the ODP Championships in January, were invited as well to attend the ODP Regional Camp for the 98 Girls.

On the boys side, Josh Beveridge (96B Nike) and Baedon Hoppough (97B Nike Fairbanks), both of whom also played in the ODP Championships in January, were invited to attend the ODP Regional Camp in July in McMinnville, Oregon.

Alaska Rush is proud of all of these players and wishes them continued success at the Regional level. Their success is a tribute to the hard work and commitment displayed by these players.
